Comcare Expert Sarah Jefferies leads the way with ORAMS
Resident Comcare subject matter expert and newly appointed Nundah Team Manager, Sarah Jefferies is lending her expertise to KINNECTs consultants as referral numbers grow since our appointment to the ORAMS panel in 2023.
Sarah, an experienced, Comcare-accredited workplace rehabilitation consultant who has worked in the industry for seven of her twelve allied health professional years, has added ORAMS Account Manager to her remit.
“My role is two-fold: on an external level, I work with our current ORAMS clients to fulfil our workplace rehabilitation case referrals and to build our network of referrers, in addition to service reviews with agencies. Internally, I manage our accounts which involves the financial side of things plus strategic file reviews with consultants and monitoring KPIs.
“I work alongside Carrie Evans, our Operational Excellence Manager, to make sure our ORAMS processes are accurate and efficient, and support consultants by ensuring they have what they need to be successful. A large part of this is training new Comcare accredited consultants who are coming on board with our ORAMS portfolio and reviewing our performance across our ORAMS cases,” Sarah explained.
Sarah supports a growing team of around 26 Comcare-accredited consultants nationwide across physical and psychological allied health specialities, who offer a combined 235 years of experience to our clients.
Leveraging her experience for ORAMS success
Sarah has become KINNECT’s lead Comcare and ORAMS Consultant and subject matter expert (SME) allowing us to achieve positive outcomes for our regular Comcare clients.
Her work leading the growth of KINNECT’s Comcare customer base, systems and processes earned her a finalist position and commendation for the Individual Contributor Category of the Comcare National Work Health and Safety Awards for 2023.
Sarah has collaborated with Comcare customers in the development of service level standards including running training sessions for KINNECTers around the country. She has also been proactive in conducting audits to ensure compliance with the scheme, and that rehabilitation programs are developed and managed with clear and appropriate strategies that deliver successful return to work outcomes.
An Accredited Exercise Physiologist herself, Sarah draws on her clinical knowledge and case management experience from both current and prior roles when supporting KINNECT’s ORAMS clients.
Working with a national provider with a real points of difference
Sarah believes that there are a few things that set KINNECT’s ability to provide workplace rehabilitation services apart from other organisations.
“We have such a high calibre of consultants who regularly get exceptional feedback from clients and fantastic Net Promoter Scores. They can think outside their speciality using a biopsychosocial approach to ensure all barriers to returning to work are addressed, connecting injured workers to the different services we have in-house like psychology, job counselling, rehabilitation counselling and occupational medicine.
“Our team are known to achieve consistently high outcomes. For example, in the last financial year, they achieved lower case durations and costs of service with higher return to work rates than the scheme average for our Comcare clients.
As a national provider, we’re able to offer our ORAMS clients a key account management structure that combines national oversight with local knowledge.
