Important Update for KINNECT Customers - Coronavirus (COVID-19)
AS OF 12th MARCH 2020
KINNECT continues to closely monitor the emerging situation with COVID-19 (“coronavirus”).
In response to the developing situation locally and under the direction of our Senior Occupational and Environmental Physician, Dr. Graeme Edwards, we have adopted a number of control measures to help reduce the risk of spread of coronavirus and ensure the safety of our clients and staff as we continue to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic.
CORONAVIRUS SCREENING PRIOR TO APPOINTMENTS
KINNECT is increasing its coronavirus screening procedures of all candidates and workers. Prior to their appointment being scheduled and again at the time of their appointment, KINNECT will confirm if the candidate or worker is considered to be at risk for exposure to coronavirus (i.e. travelled outside of Australia within last 14 days or have been in contact with anyone either suspected or diagnosed with COVID-19). At risk candidates / workers will:
- Be advised to report to their GP or respiratory clinic for further medical advice
- Have their appointment with KINNECT (or at an affiliate clinic) postponed for at least 14 days after arrival into Australia. They must be symptom free for this 14 day period and also provide a negative coronavirus test result prior to being rescheduled.
Upon presentation to either a KINNECT office or scheduled appointment, candidates/workers will undergo temperature screening. Those individuals with a temperature at or above 37.5oC will be advised to seek medical advice via the COVID-19 hotline.
Should this occur this will delay the completion of an appointment, and thus delay the provision of any results or reports to the referring party.
Any appointments that are scheduled and then cancelled due to the candidate / worker being identified as being at risk, will incur late cancellation or no show fees as per our standard terms and conditions.
INFECTION CONTROL PROCEDURES
Our infection control procedures have also been increased with more frequent use of hand sanitisation for all candidates and workers attending our offices for assessments. KINNECT staff are also increasing their sanitisation processes with increased hand washing and sterilisation of medical equipment and common areas.
TRAVEL
KINNECT employees who have been on personal and/or business travel are required to report their travel plans to management. Any employee who has recently travelled to a high-risk country will not return to the workplace unless medically cleared to do so. Self-isolation may be requested of an employee in some circumstances.
If you are a customer, candidate or worker and have recently visited a high-risk country or have been exposed to someone with coronavirus, and are scheduled for a meeting with one of our staff, please contact KINNECT on 1300 546 632.
