KINNECT sets sights on ambitious targets for the new year after significant growth in 2023

Announcements 08 Jan 2024

After a short break over Christmas, KINNECTers have returned to work with enthusiasm to meet ambitious targets to help even more people around Australia be healthy, safe and productive at work by drawing on the increase in talented people and technological capability that fuelled growth in 2023.

Major achievements in 2023

In its 27th year of operation, KINNECT saw several important achievements in 2023 including:

  • the graduation of a third cohort of the Emerging Leaders Program
  • seeing our continued financial support of the Ngak Min Health / Cape York Partnership resulting in new therapeutic spaces for Indigenous students
  • a strategic alliance with indigenous health providers Spartan Health and Marlu Health in Port Headland
  • being appointed to the Occupational Rehabilitation and Medical Services (ORAMS) and Insurance and Care New South Wales (icare) panels
  • the release of many new features in Carelever including:
    • predictive analytics via machine learning for candidate screenings to offer clients cost saving benefits
    • a live bookings function for KINNECT clinics so clients can book appointments in real time
    • customised medical and functional risk matrices so organisations can ensure alignment with their internal risk management practices
    • significant advancements to Carelever Monitor to help organisations track and facilitate periodic and legislative health assessments
  • the opening of our Rockingham Office in Western Australia (WA)

Behind these achievements is a steadily growing team of KINNECTers, which has included the appointment of an Operational Excellence Manager, a new Chief Medical Officer, a new WA State Manager and an Occupational Health Services Manager, in addition to many service delivery and support staff in all locations.

KINNECT’s CEO, Kevin Conlon said he is proud of the business’ rapid growth in recent years, and attributes it to their commitment to continual improvement and taking practical action on three core values:

“Everything we do here, and every decision, is guided by our values: highly skilled, happy people, creating sustainable value. They keep us focused on our mission to help more people and deliver high-quality services in a workplace that people really want to come to. That means we’re always improving our people’s skills and knowledge, the technology we use, our processes and the places we work.”

What’s in store for 2024

Kevin said ambitious targets to help more than 4000 new workers with workplace rehabilitation and more than 60,000 people helped with pre-employment and health monitoring services (a nearly 20% increase in both cases) are already on track with new clients like Fortescue, Glencore and Urban Utilities coming on board.

Exciting plans for the year ahead to ensure these targets are met include a full re-fit of KINNECT’s original headquarters in Woolloongabba, and the establishment of multiple new offices in NSW, VIC and WA.

In line with KINNECT’s enthusiasm for continual improvement, KINNECT’s custom-built platform Carelever, will benefit from more investment in machine-learning and AI components.

But the focus on developing happy, highly skilled KINNECTers remains the same: “People will always be our most important investment, so bringing in new talent and training our people well so that they can meet our customer experience targets, deliver outstanding health outcomes and exceed workplace rehabilitation scheme benchmarks will stay central to our plans,” Kevin confirmed.
