If you knew that an injured worker was going to experience a delayed or difficult return to work, would you do things differently?

Kevin Conlon, Chief Executive Officer at KINNECT, explains how the new Rapid Re-KINNECT service will help clients make more informed decisions about how they manage the return to work process for injured workers.

workplace injury risk assessment KINNECT

Having worked in the workplace rehabilitation industry for more than 20+ years, we’ve learnt a lot about the recovery at work journey and how to achieve positive outcomes

Handling things well at the early stages can make a big difference, both to the injured employee, and the employer’s bottom line.  We recognise that every workplace has a different capacity to manage recovery at work. While many employers are choosing to manage this in-house, it won’t necessarily be the right decision for every employerin every site, in every situation.

There are many factors that play into how successful the recovery at work can be; the nature and severity of the injury, the relationship and proximity to the Return to Work Coordinator, skills and support of the supervisor, and communication between the parties.  All these things (and more) make a difference.

The input you make into recovery at work is an investment; so, knowing when your organisation may benefit from additional support is absolutely crucial.

This is where Rapid Re-KINNECT comes in.

Following a workplace injury, Rapid Re-KINNECT provides a risk assessment to help identify whether an injured worker is likely to have a delayed and difficult return to work.

This evidence base helps employers to make a more informed decision about the next steps; whether they choose to manage a worker’s return to work in-houseor whether they wish to engage our Workplace Rehabilitation team.

“The actions we take at an early stage can make a critical difference in the outcomes for injured workers, as well as reducing the cost burden for employers. Rapid Re-KINNECT is an additional tool to help employers make more informed decisions about how they manage the return to work process.”

Rapid Re-KINNECT is streamlined and integrated with the Injury KINNECT Hotline, our 24/7 injury triage service, and our Workplace Rehabilitation services, making KINNECT a complete solution for all your injury management needs.

The evidence* is clear that early intervention in injury management provides numerous benefits including:

  • Builds health literacy of injured workers and their supervisors
  • Improved Employee Engagement
  • Builds the capacity of supervisors to manage an effective return to work
  • Reduced lost time injuries by 50%
  • Reduced Claims cost by 30%
