New training program to support Return to Work Coordinators
KINNECT Training has launched a new training course to build the skills and capacity of Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinators.
The program, approved by the Queensland Workers’ Compensation Regulator is designed to build the knowledge and skills of Return to Work Coordinators to manage the successful return to work for injured employees in their workplace.
Perfect for those people wanting to become a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator in Queensland through the completion of a Queensland Workers’ Compensation Regulator approved course, participants will be able to learn directly from trainers who are current Workplace Rehabilitation professionals.
Director of KINNECT Training, Jonathan Wilson, said:
“We know that Return to Work Coordinators play a vital role in navigating the return to work journey, but it can also be a complex and challenging job at times. Getting it wrong can be both costly and time consuming for business and have a negative impact on the injured worker.
“This course is designed to increase the knowledge base and key skills that support a successful return to work and better outcomes.”
The course delivered either face to face or online via a webinar provides an understanding of the workers’ compensation system in Queensland and focuses on early return to work and injury management principles.
This includes developing knowledge around effective collaboration with rehabilitation providers, development of suitable duties programs, effective workplace communication and negotiation skills, problem-solving in workplace rehabilitation, case and system review techniques and continuous improvement.
This training also includes basic understanding and applying relevant legislation and procedures to ensure compliance in workers’ compensation applications and injury management processes.
Both theoretical and practical scenarios are discussed in the course, building confidence in the process of managing claims, communicating effectively with relevant stakeholders, identifying suitable duties in the workplace, and effectively assisting the injured worker’s rehabilitation needs and graduated return to work.
On completion, participants will receive a Statement of Completion for the Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator Course – Queensland (Queensland Workers’ Compensation Regulator Approved Training Program).
Participants will also receive access to the KINNECT Training Knowledge Base to support them after they complete the program.
