BlueCare

Established in 1953, BlueCare is one of Queensland’s largest and most trusted not-for-profit providers of community and in-home care, residential aged care, and retirement living. Their home care team make more than 3.5 million visits to Queenslanders in urban, regional and remote areas across the state.

Project Scope

BlueCare engaged KINNECT to deliver onsite quantitative respirator fit testing to employees across over 25 sites.

A variety of masks were tested, and KINNECT’s Project Managers provided advice to assist in selecting the most accessible masks. Training and development protocols were established by KINNECT team to determine if adequate seal is achieved on the wearer.

KINNECT’s Project Managers worked collaboratively with BlueCare’s site liaisons to ensure onsite delivery was streamlined and reporting is accurate. Our reporting included individual fit test reports and site summary reports including the employee details, mask models, fit factor and overall pass/ fail grades.

Outcomes

• Most testing was delivered during June and July 2023, with a second round of testing scheduled between August and September 2023.
• KINNECT completed over 1,900 Respirator Fit Tests by the end of August 2023.
• More than 950 employees had been fit tested by the end of August 2023.
• Testing was completed at sites across Rockhampton, Mackay, Gladstone, Ingham, Townsville, Cairns, Emerald, Charters Towers, Cook Town.
