Bundaberg Regional Council was formed on the 15 March 2008 when Bundaberg City Council, Burnett Shire, Isis Shire and Kolan Shire Councils were officially merged. The Bundaberg region, strategically situated at the southern end of the Great Barrier Reef and stretching from the Burrum River to Baffle Creek, encompasses 6,451 sq km and is home to more than 94,000 people.
Project Scope
Bundaberg Regional Council (BRC) has engaged KINNECT to support monitoring the health status of the entire council staff. This includes the annual assessment and monitoring of staff member’s vaccination status (tetanus and influenza), skin checks, audio assessments, respirator fit assessments, randomised drug and alcohol testing and asbestos monitoring.
KINNECT also perform pre-employment medicals for new and existing staff to ensure that they are fit and able to perform the job role, or to assess if any extra measures are required to ensure their staff are safe and healthy at work.
The monitoring program is conducted for all staff on a recurring basis – either annually, biannually or every five to ten years – as required by current legislation.
Outcomes
KINNECT helps over 750 council workers every year to stay healthy, safe and productive at work.
BRC use KINNECTs Carelever Monitor system to track their workers’ health monitoring status. This leaves the scheduling of the worker’s health monitoring activities to KINNECT, saving them valuable time tracking data internally.
