Manual Handling Training Without a PowerPoint in Sight!
KINNECT proudly introduces Body Safe, a revolutionary manual handling training solution that ditches boring PowerPoints for practical, hands-on learning that is proven to reduce musculoskeletal disorders and injuries.
Designed to engage workers and deliver real-world skills, this innovative program combines interactive learning stations, tailored resources, and on-the-job demonstrations for a truly memorable experience.
At just $59.75 per person (based on a group of 20 participants), Body Safe is not only impactful but also highly affordable. Plus, the training includes unique features like custom posters, QR code integration, and the option to train your own internal trainers, making it a perfect fit for organisations who prioritise safety and efficiency.
Why Choose Body Safe?
Body Safe is more than just a training course—it’s a practical, relatable, and interactive experience.
Here’s why our clients love it:Â
- No PowerPoints: Workers no longer have to sit through long presentations. Instead, they actively engage in practical demonstrations and learn through doing.Â
- Customised Content: Training can be tailored to your workplace and the hazardous manual tasks your workers may be exposed to during their work activities. Our team can conduct a site visit to observe your tasks and create customised posters specific to your manual handling requirements at an additional cost.
- Interactive Stations: Each training station features a detailed poster showing correct techniques and pre-task stretches. Trainers guide participants through the stations and then demonstrate the best practice approach in the real world.Â
- QR Code Integration: Each poster has a QR code that links to a digital version of the poster and a quick reference guide for workers to access later.Â
- Memorable and Relatable: Delivered in layman’s terms, this training is designed to connect with blue-collar workers and provide them with easy-to-remember techniques that prevent musculoskeletal disorders and injuries that have a detrimental impact on their productivity and wellbeing at work and at home.
What does the training include?
- Duration: Sessions run for 60–90 minutes, depending on the number of hazardous manual tasks reviewed and number of workers in the session.
- Group Size: Each session accommodates up to 20 participants to ensure personalised attention and engagement.Â
- Site Visit for Customised Posters: A site visit can be conducted to observe tasks, capture details, and develop tailored content. The cost for this site visit is $920 + travel time, depending on the location.Â
- Posters for Reinforcement: Once printed (at an additional cost based on quantity), posters can be displayed throughout your workplace to reinforce key messages and techniques.Â
- Optional Train-the-Trainer: For $1,495, train up to 5 internal trainers to deliver the program internally, ensuring long-term benefits.Â
- Affordable Price: At just $1,195 per session, that’s only $59.75 per person with 20 attendees.Â
How it Works
Prior to the Training
KINNECT will contact you to confirm the date, time and location for the training. During this call we will confirm participant numbers and whether job specific customisation of the training materials (i.e. the posters) is required.
They will also check if specific PPE and/or site inductions are required, and whether a summary report is required.
The consultant may recommend a site visit (at an additional cost) to observe the tasks your employees undertake and other necessary details to create tailored posters. This ensures the training is relevant and directly applicable to your team’s work. If a customised session is not required, KINNECT will use our standard Bodysafe posters.
On the Day
The Allied Health Professional will attend the workplace 15 minutes prior to the training to meet with the key stakeholders and prepare for the delivery of the training.
The training is delivered as a single very practical, face-to-face session with opportunities for interaction and questions. Participants move around five stations, each with a poster focussing a key aspect of manual handling: 1) Statistics and the reason for running the program, 2) Lower backs, 3) Shoulders, 4) Hand Safety and 5) Knees.
Where appropriate, the trainer will incorporate equipment that participants use in their day-to-day jobs like landscaping or cleaning equipment to show them how to use items safely in the session.
If customised posters are requested, these will be left on-site to be placed in prominent positions so that workers can refer back to them each day.
Following the Training
If required, KINNECT can develop a manual handling training summary report. Included within this summary report is:
- Participant numbers
- Summary of the education provided
- Recommendations regarding behavioural and/or engineering changes
- Best practice approach to job specific tasks
Digital certificates of completion can be issued to the workplace for distribution to participants (additional fees apply).
FAQ
How is Body Safe training different from traditional manual handling training?
Unlike traditional methods that rely on PowerPoint presentations, Body Safe uses interactive stations, practical demonstrations, and real-world applications to make learning engaging and memorable.Â
What is a musculoskeletal disorder?
Musculoskeletal disorders, or MSDs, are injuries or diseases of the musculoskeletal system. The role of the musculoskeletal system is to support and protect the body and includes the skeleton, joints, muscles, ligaments, cartilage, tendons and other connective binding tissue. Musculoskeletal disorders can occur suddenly or happen over time and do not include fractures or dislocations caused by entrapment or crushing. Rapidly occurring MSDs are usually due to sudden unexpected forces whereas MSDs that occur over time are due to continuous overuse, including static body positions. However, it is possible for injuries to occur as a combination when body tissue has been weakened and is therefore more prone to sudden injury from lower forces.
Examples and symptoms of MSDs caused by hazardous manual tasks include:
- Acute or chronic pain
- Sprains and strains
- Soft tissue injuries, e.g. hernias
- Back injury
- Muscular and vascular disorders
- Injuries or degeneration of joints and bones
- Nerve injuries e.g. carpal tunnel syndrome
What does the site visit involve?
A KINNECT consultant visits your workplace to observe tasks and gather the necessary details to create tailored posters. This ensures the training is relevant and directly applicable to your team’s work. The site visit costs $920 + travel time, depending on your location.Â
What facilities are required for the training?
KINNECT requires a safe, clear space that allows participants to stand two arm-lengths apart while practicing the exercises. Walls should be clear so that we can hang the posters around the room.
Is there an additional cost for posters?
Yes. However, the cost of poster printing depends on the number required. Posters are designed to be displayed prominently in the workplace to provide an ongoing reminder of proper techniques and stretches.Â
What does the Train-the-Trainer option include?
For $1,495, up to 5 of your employees can be trained as internal trainers. This option allows your organisation to deliver the course internally for new starters, and as refresher courses for current employees, ensuring the training is sustainable and adaptable to your needs.Â
How many people can participate in a Body Safe session?
Each session can accommodate up to 20 participants to maintain high engagement and personalised attention.Â
Is this training suitable for all industries?
Yes! Body Safe is highly customisable and works well across a wide range of industries, including construction, manufacturing, logistics, and more.Â

“It’s one thing to hear ‘keep your back straight’ in a presentation – it’s another to physically practice it yourself while an experienced allied health professional guides you. When we ran the training with Downer, some people told me it was the best manual handling training they’d been to and we received an 87% satisfaction rate from their feedback forms.“
