Top tips for streamlining CMWHS assessments in ResHealth
Since the introduction of ResHealth on April 1, the transition to completing QLD Coal Mine Workers Health assessments via the new system has been an overwhelming success. Now we’re almost two months into using ResHealth, we want to share some ways to make the process even smoother.
Thanks to the behind-the-scenes preparation of KINNECT team members – and our clients’ continued efforts to adopt ResHealth – CMWHS assessments are running smoothly. However, as always, we’ve been keeping an eye out for opportunities to create sustainable value, and in doing so, have discovered some quick and easy ways for you to streamline the CMWHS assessment process.
1. Alternate your Appointed Medical Advisor (AMA)
When initiating a health assessment in ResHealth, you have the option to select (from a dropdown menu) which AMA will review the results. Once the AMA is selected, the results can only be reviewed by that individual and cannot be accessed by the wider team.
To help spread the load amongst our many available advisors – and enable a faster turnaround of results – try alternating between different AMAs.
While you may not recognise some of their names, each of our Advisors are highly skilled professionals more than capable of completing the assessments needed.
2. Double-check the type of assessment requested in ResHealth matches the type of assessment requested in Carelever
When selecting the assessment you require, always make sure the type requested in ResHealth matches the type requested in Carelever. The table below outlines the different types of assessments, and how they’re referred to across both platforms.
Carelever Service Name | ResHealth Assessment Type |
QLD CMWHS Assessment – Baseline | Full Health Assessment |
QLD CMWHS Assessment – Periodic | Full Health Assessment |
QLD CMWHS Assessment – ERT/Mines Rescue – Baseline | Full Health Assessment |
QLD CMWHS Assessment – ERT/Mines Rescue – Periodic | Full Health Assessment |
QLD CMWHS Assessment – ERT/Mines Rescue – Upgrade Only | Full Health Assessment |
QLD CMWHS Assessment – Site Change | Full Health Assessment |
QLD CMWHS Assessment – Employer Name Change | Full Health Assessment |
QLD CMWHS Assessment – Subsequent Review | Subsequent Review |
QLD CMWHS Assessment – Subsequent Review Extension | Subsequent Review |
3. Encourage employees and candidates to promptly complete both their worker section in ResHealth and the required Carelever forms
For candidates and employees to book medical examination appointments quickly, they must complete their section of the CMWHS assessment and the relevant Carelever forms (sent to them by email/text).
Ensure you remind them of these requirements when the CMWHS assessment is requested.
In addition, KINNECT have compiled all of the important information on the new ResHealth process for employees and candidates in this easy step-by-step guide which you are welcome to share.
If you require further support in using ResHealth, comprehensive video support guides are available on the Queensland Government’s Resources Safety & Health website.
